Symmetry is safe. This door isn’t.
Most doors with a grid keep it even — same panes, same spacing, same look from top to bottom. This one throws the pattern out and starts over. The bars sit where they look right, not where a template says they should, and that one decision turns an ordinary door into a design statement.
The grid, deconstructed. Look closely and you’ll see what’s different: a single vertical bar set off-center to the left, and two horizontal bars placed lower down, breaking the door into panes of different sizes. Nothing repeats, nothing lines up square — and that’s exactly the point. The layout feels composed, the way a painting is composed: your eye moves across it, lands on different shapes, and never gets bored. It’s the same trick architects use on windows and facades — an off-beat rhythm that makes an everyday surface feel intentional.
Light still does its thing. All that design sits on clear glass, so the door never gets in the way of what it’s meant to let through. Daylight moves across the panes without effort, the room behind stays visible and bright, and the view stays intact — the bars break up the glass, not the outlook. On a sunny day, light filters through and throws soft leaf shadows across the floor; the door doesn’t stop that from happening, it just frames it.
A door that looks like it was drawn for the room. The matte black frame is slim, so the pattern does the talking. Against light walls, pale wood, and neutral furniture — the Scandinavian way — the door reads as quiet and deliberate, not loud. It works just as well in a gallery-like studio or a creative office, where a regular door would be background noise and this one earns a second look. It’s a focal point that still behaves like a door.
Hardware that pulls its weight. Underneath the design is the same honest engineering. The door runs on a thick black track bolted above the opening, with two rollers that keep it level and quiet as it slides. It stops where you leave it, and it opens up the full doorway whenever you need the space. Slide it open and the whole opening is yours, with the door parked neatly against the wall, taking years of daily use without complaint.
Where it earns its place. Scandinavian living rooms, modern apartments, creative studios, gallery spaces, and offices that want a bit of character without the clutter. It’s also a natural choice when the door itself is part of the design brief — a feature in its own right rather than a hole filler. And because the layout is custom, the same door can look completely different in two different homes. That’s the point.
Your layout, our build. Here’s the part designers love: we don’t just sell a fixed pattern. Send us your opening size — and if you’ve drawn a grid of your own, send that too. We can shift the bars, change the pane sizes, and build the door around your drawing. That kind of flexibility is rare in ready-made doors, and it’s exactly what makes this one a favorite for custom projects.
Made by people who take the details personally. We build these doors ourselves, and we treat every layout like it’s the only one that matters. You’ll get honest pricing, clear timelines, and samples if you want to see the finish in person before you commit. If you can draw it, we can build it — that’s the short version of how we work.
Send us the opening size and, if you have one, the layout you have in mind for the bars. We’ll come back with a quote, a lead time, and a door that’s exactly as particular as you are.
